ANTI- RECIDIVISM COALIITION

https://antirecidivism.org

Our grant for $20,300 supports the Pre-release Youth Mentorship Program. ARC works to end mass incarceration in California. ARC empowers formerly and currently incarcerated people to thrive by providing a support network, comprehensive reentry services, and opportunities to advocate for policy change. Through their grassroots policy advocacy, they are dedicated to transforming the criminal justice system so that it is more just and equitable for all people. Our grant will serve approximately 90 youth, ages 18-22 with peer mentorships and wraparound supportive services in preparation for and after release. Mentors work with the youth while incarcerated and open options for their future. Once released, youth are connected to Life Coaches who support them in completing GED programs, identifying and navigating enrollment for higher educational or vocational opportunities, applying for financial aid applications, supportive services, including case management, trauma counseling, and healthy living classes. ARC provides youth with an alternative to gangs, drugs and delinquency by being a support community they can turn to.
